Chef Alexander Hernandez was born in New Orleans in 1970 and was first introduced to the Culinary Field at 18 during his time at the New Orleans Marriott. After finding his passion for culinary and culinary presentation he applied and was accepted into the Culinary Institute of America where he perfected his craft. Immediately following the Culinary Institute of America he interned at Commander’s Palace in New Orleans where he studied and trained under Emeril Lagasse.
In 2006, he relocated to the great city of Houston where he fell in love with the diverse culture. He then continued his Marriott career working for the Intercontinental Airport Marriott, the J.W. Marriott and the Marriott Jesse Jones Rotary House in the Medical Center. He joined the team at the Houston Marriott South in October of 2010.
During his spare time, Chef Alex enjoys continuing to add to his Comic Book collection which he began in 1974. He is also an avid gun collector and enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.
