Brewmasters Craft Beer Festval - September 5-6. Moody Gardens Galveston

Southern Star Brewing

Introducing the Pro-AM Line

Pro-Am 2010
This year's winner was Ed Condon of Spring, TX. The Smoked porter is black in color, and has a pronounced smoky nose with accents of chocolate and roast malt. The mouth-feel is full with more smoky flavors giving way to chocolate and caramel. The maltiness of this beer is nicely balanced by using a moderate amount of Pacific Northwest hops.

Karbach Brewing Company

Everyone in this part of the world is familiar with the legend of the Chupacabra, but only recently have reports of the Hopadillo begun to emerge. Driven to the edge of extinction by the decades long practice of American brewers putting as few hops as possible in their beer, the Hopadillo has begun to thrive again now that craft brewers like Karbach Brewing Company are generously hopping their beers.  You see, the Hopadillo needs a certain compound found only in hops in order to survive. Of course, you’re thinking that the Hopadillo should simply live in the major hop growing regions of the world. Problem is this compound the Hopadillo needs must be in a metabolized form found only in humans after they have consumed highly hopped beer.

Weisse Versa is unfiltered and has the refreshing characteristics you'd come to expect in a wheat beer, but the combination of the citrus peel and coriander added during the brewing process and the natural clove, nutmeg and banana aromas produced by our special, Bavarian wheat beer yeast result in a beer that's unlike any you've ever had. So who says you can't have your cake and eat it too? With Weisse Versa you get the flavors you love in a German Hefe AND in a Belgian White beer. Both. At the same time.

Austin Beer Works

If a stout and a pilsner had a lovechild, it would be Black Thunder. It would also be a miracle, because beer can't "get it on." This miniature powder keg starts with a roasted, bread-like complexity but finishes dry and clean like a pilsner. It's dark, distinctive, and dry.

Clown Shoes

Hoppy Feet has been lovingly crafted by combining Premium malt with lots of Amarillo and Columbus Hops. Grapefruit and Pine are balanced on the nose and on the palate by a nutty, dark chocolate, roasted backbone.

Clementine is Clown Shoes Beer's Belgian style White Ale. Light-bodied and crisp, this is a terrific White Ale with plenty of zest! Hazy in appearance and healthily carbonated, it utilizes Chambly yeast to energetically shape its wheat malt base. Incorporated in the brewing process is Clementine, sweet orange peel, a hint of Coriander, and Summit hops.

Like a stamp on a tramp, this beer is about not so subtle seduction. Soft but complex malts, Chambly yeast, sweet orange peel, Columbus, Amarillo, and Centennial hops have merged to create a bodacious Belgian IPA.

Eagle Claw Fist utilizes the same Chico yeast that shaped Hoppy Feet and Brown Angel. Canadian Two Row, English Crystal, and a little English Black Patent malt provide a sweet, balanced backbone. Simcoe, Centennial, and Citra work together to create a unique hop assault, with an intense bitterness that manages to leave your palate in one piece and is harmonized by the flavors of tropical fruits and flowers. The finish is dry.
